Benefits

Health Plan
Orbis offers a comprehensive health care package that includes dental and vision. Employees can enroll themselves and their eligible dependents (spouse, domestic partner, unmarried children under 19, etc.) for health care benefits. In addition, other benefits associated with Life, Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D), and Short- and Long-Term Disability insurance are available to all employees.

401k
Orbis offers the most competitive 401k in the industry. All employees are eligible to contribute to a variety of investment funds that best match their individual needs. Orbis will match employee investments up to six percent of the employee’s salary. Employees are immediately fully vested on both their contributions and the Orbis contributions made on the employee’s behalf.

Vacation
In addition to Federal holidays, employees are offered three weeks of vacation time per year. Additional vacation may be awarded as part of special employee retention or incentive programs.

Employee Incentives Awards (EIA)
Every employee is eligible for a performance-based Employee Incentive Award. The EIA program offers employees additional vacation days or cash awards and may be awarded at any time during the calendar year.

Orbis will reimburse employees for membership dues for professional organizations associated with your position.

Open Positions

Sr. Software Developer (multiple positions): The successful candidate will be proficient in both Windows and Linux and will have 7 – 15 years of experience developing Web Services, Service-Based Software System design and XML technologies (XSL, XQuery, XPath, etc.). Detailed experience with Oracle 10g/11g (or other RDBMS), HTML, CSS, Javascript libraries and frameworks, J2EE, JSP, Struts, JSF, and JSON is preferred. Experience with Web 2.0 technologies/methodologies such as AJAX, RSS, Microformats, wikis, social tagging, and social networking is highly desirable. Knowledge of other web development languages such as Ruby on Rails, PHP, and Python is a plus.

The ideal candidate is creative, driven and self-motivated and has a strong interest in Semantic Web concepts, Ontology Design, Semantic Representation Languages, Semantic Query Languages, and Machine Reasoning.

The candidate must have a bachelor of science in computer science. An advanced degree is highly desirable. The successful candidate must have a U.S. government (DoD Secret) security clearance.

Facility Security Officer (Part-Time): The successful candidate will be an experienced Facility Security Officer (FSO) with a desire for a flexible, part-time work schedule (18-24 hours per week). Qualified applicants will have a minimum of 5 years experience working in a classified environment and be knowledgeable in National Industrial Security Program procedures. Experience working as an ISSM and ISSO, and use of government databases (ACAVS, JPAS eQIP and ISFD) and MSOffice applications is required. The candidate must have experience processing personnel clearances and visit requests; writing Standard Practice Procedures; maintaining security records and files; and interfacing with government security representatives.

Specific duties include administering and coordinating the security program, and other related security activities, to ensure compliance with government regulations and company policies and procedures. Additional duties include conduct security briefings; create and manage document and visitor control programs; and ensure appropriate storage, safeguarding, and disclosure requirements are followed for the protection of classified information. As needed, some data entry and administrative tasks may be required.

The ideal candidate will have 5 years minimum FSO experience and an associate’s degree. A Final Top Secret clearance and DoD FSO certification is required.

IT / Network Engineer (Part-Time): The successful candidate desires a flexible, part-time work schedule and has 7 – 15 years of proven experience building email servers (MS Exchange, etc.) and protected network environments. Experience building and managing VPN, File Servers, Mail Servers, and implementing Virtualization solutions (VM Ware, in particular) is required. The candidate must have experience with Windows and Linux based systems. Oracle 10g/11g or other similar RDBMS experience and a working knowledge of configuration management tools (SVN and TRAC) is highly desirable.

The candidate must have a bachelor of science in engineering, computer science, or equivalent. The successful candidate must have a U.S. government (DoD Secret) security clearance.

Semantic Service Oriented Architect: The ideal candidate will have experience with semantic technology and will have built Web Services around these semantic technologies. A detailed understanding of DoD (NCES) and Commercial (W3C) standards is desired. Experience building next-generation semantic Web Services and working with customers to define Enterprise Web Services is desired.

The candidate must have a bachelor degree in engineering or computer science. An advanced degree in engineering or computer science is required. The successful candidate must have a U.S. government security clearance (DoD TS desired).
